Dwayne has over 30 years’ experience in occupational safety and fire protection. He holds a Master of Science in Occupational Safety Management and a Bachelor of Science in Fire Prevention and Control. He is also a Board Certified Safety & Health Manager (CSHM) accredited by the Council on Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards. With Advanced Safety & Health, Dwayne and his staff have worked with clients such as LG&E Energy Services, Lockheed Martin, Beam-Suntory, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, BASF Corporation, Corrections Corporation of America, American Electric Power, FreightCar America, and many others where they are involved in multiple aspects of occupational safety management, regulatory compliance, and injury prevention services. Prior to establishing the company in 2000, Dwayne was the Accident Prevention Leader for EBI Companies in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has served as a corporate safety and security manager for a large manufacturing company as well as a safety engineer for a U.S. defense contractor working on the production of the Multiple Launch Rocket System and various other weapons projects for the military. Along with his safety background, Dwayne also has a significant experience in various fire and emergency services capacities. He has a proven track record of assisting companies in developing and executing accident prevention strategies that have seen tangible results in reducing the frequency and severity of occurrences and in turn saving companies millions of dollars and preventing hundreds of injuries each year. Dwayne is an authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer for the Construction and General Industry 10- and 30-hour programs and performed for many years as a trainer for the OSHA Training Institute Education Center (OTIEC) at Eastern Kentucky University. With the OTIEC Program, Dwayne instructed a significant number of the OSHA-numbered courses as well as specialty safety training for the various U.S. Army Safety Officers Courses and the Correctional Safety Officers Certificate Program. In addition, he has served as an Adjunct Instructor for the Indiana University Occupational Safety undergraduate program. With over 30 years’ experience in the safety field, Dwayne is qualified to offer safety expert witness and litigation support (consulting expert) for clients located throughout the United States. He has worked with numerous clients and their legal counsel on OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, and safety liability matters.
Greg is a Board Certified Safety Professional with over twenty four years of experience in the safety, health, and environmental field. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Hygiene Management and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. Greg is also an authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer for the Construction Industry 10- and 30-hour programs. Since 2003 when Greg joined the organization, he has provided safety, health and environmental services to a variety of industrial, service, transportation, construction and warehousing clients. He has worked with clients such as Maker’s Mark Distilleries, Valiant Construction, Independent Stave, Lockheed Martin, Crayola, and many others. His strengths include regulatory compliance, auditing, program development and implementation, injury and illness prevention, industrial hygiene monitoring, hazard analysis and abatement, recordkeeping and reporting, as well as training. Prior to joining Advanced Safety & Health, Greg spent the majority of his time in industries where he worked for wood, metal cutting tools, synthetic cutting and cooling fluids, abrasive wheel, machinery, food and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Additionally, he was an Accident Prevention Specialist for a workers’ compensation insurance company where he serviced clients in the industrial and service sectors. Throughout his career, Greg has excelled at reducing injuries and illnesses and workers’ compensation costs; implementing cost-effective solutions; and streamlining programs, permitting, and recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
Eric is one of our Louisville-based safety consultants where his main focus is providing accident prevention, OSHA compliance, and safety management consultation with an emphasis in industrial safety. Eric has worked with companies such as Thermex-Thermatron, The Weber Group, Thybar Corporation, Diageo North America, Charah, PQ Corporation, and Process Machinery. Eric has over fifteen years’ experience in occupational safety management and safety consulting services. His industrial safety background includes working for manufacturers in the metal stamping, welding, assembly, powder coat painting, automotive, and machining industries. Some of his previous employment experience includes improving environmental, health and safety programs as an industrial safety professional at Stauble Machine & Tool, Precision Tool & Die, AP Technoglass, and General Electric Appliances. Eric is a Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and holds a Master of Science degree in Loss Prevention and Safety from Eastern Kentucky University. He has served as a board member of the Louisville Chapter of American Society of Safety Engineers for the past several years. Eric is also an authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer for the General Industry 10- and 30-hour programs as well as a Certified Flagger Training Instructor for the National Safety Council.
Melissa is a Safety Consultant in our Louisville office where her main focus is providing OSHA compliance and safety management consulting with an emphasis in general industry safety. Melissa provides these services for a variety of industries, including manufacturing, food production, construction, and distilleries. She performs many safety functions, such as safety program development and implementation, safety training, and regulatory compliance oversight. Melissa has ten years’ safety experience with an array of knowledge and expertise, particularly in the areas of hazard assessment, safety training, worker compensation, job safety analysis, and regulatory compliance. She has experience with root cause analysis for injuries and vehicular incidents as well as development of safety campaigns/incentives. She has previously held safety and worker’s comp management positions with Kellogg’s, Kentucky Trailer, Hillerich and Bradsby, as well as UPS. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Safety Science from Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana. She is an authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer for the General Industry 10- and 30-hour programs as well as a certified First Aid Responder and a Certified Hearing Conservationist. Additionally, Melissa is a Professional Member and Past-President of American Society of Safety Engineers – Louisville Chapter.
Laura holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Michigan State. Laura has over 20 years’ experience working as an ergonomist in companies such as General Motors, where she developed the Small Car Group Design-In Program in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as well as other ergonomic and process improvement projects throughout General Motors operations. She was also responsible for designing and implementing the Ambrake Ergonomic Process in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She has expertise in reactive, proactive, and office ergonomic programs as well. Laura provides ergonomic project work for clients to assist them in addressing existing ergonomic concerns as well as providing “design in” consultative services for new projects and processes. Laura’s list of service capabilities range from providing ergonomic awareness training to assisting organizations establish a comprehensive ergonomic process throughout their entire organization. Some of her clients include Chevron, Google, UGN, Bulleit Bourbon, and MillerCoors.
Fire Safety Technician
Derek's main focus is developing emergency evacuation route diagrams for clients. These diagrams help ensure compliance with applicable standards and provide a means to assist the client to ensure the safe and efficient evacuation and protection of building occupants in the event of an emergency. Derek has five years’ experience in designing and developing Evacuation Route Diagrams specific to the client’s needs and applications. He utilizes ASTM E2238-12 “Standard Guide for Evacuation Route Diagrams” which covers the evacuation of building occupants when directed by emergency response authorities in emergencies such as fire, tornado, bomb threat, and the like. Derek has worked with clients such as St. Matthews Animal Clinic, Toyota Motor Manufacturing – Georgetown, Kentucky Facility, Immaculate Conception Church, Boys & Girls Club of Kentuckiana, and Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. He serves as a full-time Firefighter/EMT with the Worthington Fire Department in Louisville (Kentucky) as well as a part-time Firefighter/EMT with the North Oldham Fire District in Goshen (Kentucky). Additionally, he is a Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor with the American Heart Association.
